Bowen
What is Bowen?
The Bowen Technique originates from Australia and was developed by Tom Bowen over 50 years ago. The Bowen Technique uses a gentle rolling action over soft tissue to create a signal to the brain. There is no massage or manipulation. Because of its gentle nature Bowen can be used on babies right through to the very elderly.

A typical treatment
The recipient would keep their clothing on. There is no manipulation or adjustment (it is very different to massage). The experience of Bowen is gentle, subtle and relaxing. A Bowen Technique session will last approximately 45 minutes during which there are short breaks to allow the body to assimilate the information. Relief is regularly felt immediately. Most cases respond within 48 hours. Chronic conditions may take longer than the average four sessions. Treatment plans are decided on physical assessment.

Ear Candles - Auricular Therapy
What is Auricular Therapy?
Ear candles is an ancient therapy used in Asia and America for a wide variety of ear, nose and throat problems. The candles are hollow tubes made up of organic flax which has been soaked in soothing and healing herbs.
How can it heal?
The herbs used in the candle are; Camomile (anti-inflammatory), Sage (warming herb for soothing throat infections and clearing headaches), St Johns Wort (analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and anti-depressant), Honey (anti-bacterial). Finally the beeswax binds the herbal ingredients together and is a great emollient. Together the herbs work synergistically.
A typical treatment
The therapy takes about half an hour. After initial consultation to take a health history. This treatment is a completely painless procedure and requires the recipient to lay on a couch on their side. A candle is seated just in the entrance of the ear and then lit at the top. It gently burns down and there is no risk involved.

Massage
What is Massage?
Massage is moving hands over the surface of the skin which moves under lying tissue and muscles and creates relaxation of the muscles.
What can it heal?
Massage will relax tense or injured muscles and creates a feeling of well being.
A typical treatment
It is necessary to undress to under garments for massage, the client will lay on a couch. Towels are covering areas of the body not being massaged at the time. The length of time for a treatment depends on what type of massage a client prefers;
- 30 minutes for a back, shoulder and neck massage
- 30 minutes for an Indian Head massage
- 1 hour for a full body massage
- Organic massage oil is used, essential oils are burned and relaxing music played to create a feeling of relaxation.

Reiki
What is Reiki?
Pronounced (Ray-Key) Reiki is Japanese for life energy. Our bodies have 7 Chakras and each chakra relates to certain organs. An in balance of a chakra often suggests an illness. Reiki will go to wherever a recipient needs healing.
How can it heal?..
Reiki relaxes the body and mind and allows the recipient to heal themselves .Reiki restores your life energy source.
A typical treatment
The client lays on a couch fully clothed. In my practise I play relaxing music and burn organic essential oils. The client may experience warmth and/or tingling as I hold my hands over their body this is normal. Client’s find Reiki deeply relaxing and often fall asleep. A treatment lasts 1 hour and costs £50.00 per treatment.
Reiki is also available for animals.
